The North Devon countryside is well known for its agriculture and that means great food. Beaworthy is in the heart of what is known as Ruby Country, rich in small producers of many varieties of food and drink, which you can taste and buy at weekly farmers markets. You'll find a list of dates and locations in your cottage ' s Information Pack. We can arrange trips to West Lake Farm, a local apple and cider producer, where Linda and George will explain the pressing process from apple to bottle (workload dependant). They also sell juice, natural or fermented, that's produced on the farm.

For walkers and cyclists there are miles of traffic free lanes and cycle ways. Okehampton Station is a good starting point with its access to the Granite Way , part of the Sustrans National Cycle Route. For the less energetic there is always a ride on the Dartmoor steam railway to Meldon Quarry with access to Dartmoor with its many opportunities for walking, the Bullied Buffet provides a selection of light and not so light snacks (the all day breakfast comes highly recommended). For golfers there are a number of courses close to Beaworthy, the nearest being Ashbury others include Okehampton, Holsworthy, Launceston and Bude.
